Supernatural Meme - Two Quotes (2/2)

You know why God cast me down? Because I loved him. More than anything. And then God created… You. The little… hairless apes. And then he asked all of us to bow down before you—to love you, more than him. And I said, “Father, I can’t.” I said, “These human beings are flawed, murderous.” And for that, God had Michael cast me into hell. Now, tell me, does the punishment fit the crime?”

Clap clap for Jared in this scene, I will never get over this…just amazing!

Mark Pellegrino is a fantastic Lucifer, no question. But for me, there is no other Lucifer but Jared Padalecki’s. These GIFs alone are giving me the creeps.

To me, Jared was the one who set the “Lucifer might actually be female all along” mindset. The way he softens his face, the way he uses language, the way he likes things cleaner and prettier and appreciates the world for beauty, while still having a certain underlaying rage that seeths and boils more than overtly strikes and lashes.

No, I’m not saying all women and no men are like that. But they are all typically feminine traits. And that’s the piece I think people are missing about this scene when they say it’s over or under acted. When they say it feels off.

Jared is playing a woman here. A woman stuck in a man’s body.

And that’s the difference, to me, in Mark and Jared’s Lucifer’s. I imagine that Mark is playing a fourteen/fifteen year old girl. But this is five years later. Five hard years for Lucifer, too, where (s)he had to grow far faster than expected. Where (s)he was expected to be the (mother)father of a race, and the last of (her) kind aside from one man (and I definitely think Castiel is male) who rejects everything about Lucifer. Lucifer just wants to be the good child to an absentee father… But never got to grow in the cage.

Mark is playing a wonderfully bratty but loving teenage girl. Jared is playing a woman, a lost older sister, a lonely daughter, a tired adopted mother who hates her children and is now seeing the one person who could care- if only because she happens to be trapped inside of his brother, his child.

If you think this scene is acted wrong, it’s because you’re watching a man playing a man. He isn’t. This is a woman.

I searched for a good five minutes to find a reaction GIF appropriate to the amount of mind blowage that just occured. No dice.

WOW. Never thought of it like that before, but yessss….

Oh my god.

BOTH TIMES Lucifer appeals to his vessels, he’s a woman. A pretty convincing woman, I might add.

MIND. BLOWN.

If I could be in love with a post, this would be that post. Just. All my jumbled, incoherent thoughts spelled out so neatly. I love this. Probably my number one headcanon.
